In 2003, Cancer Family Care established the Unsung Hero Awards in memory of Joslin Haggart Yeiser. According to her husband, Eric Yeiser, Joslin was a quiet hero. "It is fitting that the Unsung Hero Awards be named for Joslin," Mr. Yeiser explains. "Even in her last months, when she was suffering from cancer and in pain, she was still able to maintain her smile, sense of humor, and served as an inspiration to all who knew her."
Cancer Family Care is asking the community to nominate cancer patients, caregivers and oncology professionals for the 16th annual Joslin Haggart Yeiser Unsung Hero Awards. The Unsung Hero Awards will honor and celebrate the many acts of quiet heroism performed by cancer patients and the people who care for them.
Nominations are due by Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Awards will be presented at a banquet on Tuesday, May 15th.
Recognition is given in each of the three categories - Patient, Caregiver & Oncology Professional
All nominated heroes will be honored at the banquet, and every nominated hero will receive a complimentary ticket to attend.
