Dinner and Ceremony
In 2003, Cancer Family Care established the Unsung Hero Awards in memory of Joslin Haggart Yeiser. According to her husband, Eric Yeiser, Joslin was a quiet hero. “Even in her last months, when she was suffering from cancer and in pain, she was still able to maintain her smile, and sense of humor, and served as an inspiration to all who knew her. It is fitting that the Unsung Hero Awards be named for Joslin”
The Unsung Hero Awards is an event that honors the many quiet acts of courage performed by people touched by cancer and those who care for them. Nominations are accepted in three categories: patient, caregiver, and oncology professional.
Nominations are now closed!
The event takes place on the evening of Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s campus. All nominees are honored at the event.
